Serrano Pepper Seeds
Originally native to the mountains of the Mexican states of Puebla and Hidalgo, Serrano peppers get their name from a Spanish word meaning "from the mountains." Known and loved for their unusual combination of both intense heat and flavor.
Large 2-3 plants produce plentiful smooth, club-shaped, 1 1/2" long fruits with medium-thick walls. Best used fresh, the fruits mature from green to red. Although shaped similar to the Jalapeo, its much hotter. Heat scale is about 10,000 to 20,000 Scovilles.
Blocky, wrinkled peppers measure about 1 to 2 inches long and slightly less wide, maturing from silvery green to bright orange on the plant. Fruit is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant.
